Peter B. Stovell, M.D.

Dr. Stovell graduated from Harvard College and Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons.  He did surgical training at the Roosevelt hospital in New York.  Following service in the Navy as a submarine medical officer (leaving the service with the rank of Lt. Commander),  he returned to New York for an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Dr. Stovell then moved to Connecticut and started practicing here in Norwalk where he has been since 1975.  He is interested in general Orthopaedics, sports medicine and joint replacement surgery.  He has special training in joint replacement surgery from time spent with specialists  in England and France.  He is a Fellow of The American Academy of Sports Medicine.  He is on the faculty of Yale Medical School as a clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Medicine.  He is a past Chief of Orthopaedics at The Norwalk Hospital.
